The season

Fall–Winter reading

This season crosses the Caribbean: Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico, Haiti and home to Jamaica, one book each first Thursday.

Chef's Table editions pair the month's book with the food of its island. December's is a Saturday at Normandy Gardens. Selections in translation are read in English, with the original welcome at the table.

Your host

Katrina Occonor

Host, CARICON Book Club

Katrina hosts the CARICON Book Club every first Thursday, guiding the conversation through each month's selection as the club moves around the Caribbean's four linguistic traditions.

She sets the questions, keeps every voice in the room, and makes sure first-time readers and lifelong devotees of Caribbean literature leave the table with something new.
